Another T20 Loss.. hopefully things will only improve from here on

It was an agonising loss to the Kiwis yet again but it was heartening to see the Indian side claw back into the game after they were outclassed for the first 30 overs of the game.

Many ifs and buts would be raised but the fact is that had there been a normal mid off for the last ball, the game would have gone into the super over.
However, these are indications that things would only get better from here on so lets hope the worst part of the tour is past us.

Too many things to do!

It is the end of February and I just cannot manage my time well enough to pack everything that I want to do in a single day. It seems as if 24 hours in a day are not enough.

Not that I am killing myself by studying day and night but I'm afraid, that is exactly what I have to do from now on.When I thought about spending the whole of my last semester here in Delhi, I was sure that it will be all work and no play. But no, it has the downside to it as well, because living with your family, you have parents right on your backs to see that you don't keep on playing chess all the time.

As things stand now, I have to submit a synopsis about my training, appear for a test on 8th March, submit the mid term report a few days after that and then prepare for the first FIDE Rated tournament of my life. It will be my first shot at an international rating and I would not want Rs 1500 to go in vain.

Let's hope that I am able to maintain some sort of balance in all these things.

Graduating... in more things than one!

Let us get to the topic straightaway, as I am running short of time.

I am about to graduate from college with an Engineer's label in a few months from now but that is not something I am so excited about. I am talking about the other thing, which is more interesting..

The story goes like this...

Being the youngest and probably the only driver in my family having the right balance of skill and confidence I am always under the pump whenever I talk about taking out the car alone. I took mom to the doctor last week and she was quite convinced with my driving skills, so is my brother and bhabhi.

So,all this while, the big deal was about trying to convince dad about the fact that I am now trained enough to take the car anywhere, without denting other cars all around. Today, I planned with mom to go to pick dad up from his office, which is a good 12 km from my place and most importantly, it is in the heart of Delhi, so you expect heavy(and I really mean HEAVY) traffic at that time. We told him that I was going there with a driver, so he need not worry, as I would not drive.

However, we reached there and I drove him back safely so I think this is my graduation as a driver. :)

Update..

So, I'm full time into my training now and contrary to what I wanted, I HAVE to report there every day, week after week, for the next few days at least. However, if you take out the 34 km a side bus sojourn(twice a day) out of my schedule, I enjoy my time in the office. Have learned a few things there in the past week and this week I actually helped them increase the efficiency, as I was given the responsibility to carry out a few tasks and I did that without any fuss.

Apart form that, I think tomorrow is Rose Day, another of those overhyped days like Valentine's Day, when we have got nothing to do. I've observed that in the past few years, the cards and gift manufacturers have created unnecessary hype around these so called "festivals" to sell their goods. The sooner the youngsters of this country understand this, the better.

Now a new concept has emerged, i.e. of a Valentine's Week!
It is supposed to start from Rose Day and carries on till Valentine's day, i.e. 14th of feb.

gimme a break!
